The Food Centre houses a Chemistry and Microbiology Lab which offer a range of analytical activities to assist the industry to shed light on their products through analytical testing and develop or help solve problems faced by clients.
The microbial laboratory can help determine shelf life of various products stored under regular and accelerated conditions. It is capable of conducting microbial analysis on various products.
The chemistry lab is used to determine the physical and functional characteristics of various ingredients and products. The chemistry lab is also capable of developing processes on the bench top for manufacturing ingredients or changing an ingredient’s functionality.
