Extrusion R&D and Processing Suites
The Food Centre’s extrusion department consists of three co-rotating, twin screw extruders, extrusion auxiliary equipment, and modular post-extrusion processing equipment. Our R&D extruder operates between 20-100 kgs per hour depending on the product and we have a preconditioner for formulations that require longer cooking or hydration times. Our pilot-scale production line can manufacture a variety of extruded products at rates up to 250 kg/hr depending on the product.
Our post-extrusion processing equipment include: tunnel dryer, tumbler for coating, particle size reduction equipment, tray dryer and packaging equipment. Most of our post-extrusion processing equipment is modular and can be moved in or out as the processing conditions require.
Our dedicated dry packaging suite is set up for film pouch packaging of different sizes, from individual chip bag size, family size to resealable bag options.
