What is GreenPrints?
GreenPrints is a new initiative developed by the Saskatchewan Food Industry Development Centre to promote environmental sustainability in the agri-food sector and celebrate the industry’s prioritization of sustainable best practices in food production post-harvest.
The GreenPrints Campaign hosted a five-part bilingual webinar series aimed at increasing awareness and education on sustainable agriculture practices in Canada.
The webinars covered a range of topics including:
- plant-based diets
- upcycling to reduce food waste
- supply chain sustainability
- life cycle analysis software
- achieving net-zero carbon emissions
The series featured Dr. Sylvain Charlebois, Senior Director of the Agri-Food Analytics Lab at Dalhousie University. Dr. Charlebois provided attendees with valuable insights on current market data trends regarding sustainability topics, trends, technologies, and strategies to improve sustainability practices within individual organizations. The goal is to foster conversation and ideas for a more environmentally conscious agri-food industry. Industry professionals and the public alike were encouraged to attend.
By bringing together industry professionals, researchers, and the public, the Food Centre is uniquely positioned to create innovative solutions to the challenges facing the agri-food sector. Our network of connections and collaborative approach allows us to work together towards a common goal – creating a more sustainable and prosperous future for the Canadian agri-food industry.
Thank you to everyone who joined in the GreenPrints journey and help build a better future for us all.
Funding for this project was provided by Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada through the AgriCommunication Program.
