The Food Centre is seeking to hire a Manager for the FC Inspection Services Program. The FC Inspection Services Program provides voluntary meat inspection for abattoirs and meat processing plants to enhance humane handling and food safety. Under the Program, abattoirs and meat processing plants request inspections, which are currently delivered through a contract between the Saskatchewan Ministry of Agriculture and the Saskatchewan Food Industry Development Centre Inc. Abattoirs and meat processors seeking eligibility for domestic meat inspection must comply with the requirements set out in The Animal Production Regulations and the Domestic Meat Inspection Program standard.
The Program Manager is responsible for implementing and overseeing a third-party domestic meat-inspection service delivery model. This includes evaluating corporate structure options, ensuring compliance with all applicable regulations, and coordinating with key stakeholders, including the Ministry of Agriculture and the Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA). The role leads the development of operational systems, including SOPs, training programs, auditing frameworks, and reporting mechanisms. The Program Manager also oversees budgeting, tracks expenditures, and ensures the program operates efficiently within approved financial parameters. Key responsibilities include regulatory alignment, stakeholder engagement, program design, staff recruitment and training, and establishing veterinary and technical support systems. Qualifications and Skills:

The Food Centre has an immediate opening for a Research Associate – Food Crop Science & Ingredient Innovation. This position reports to the Director of Crop Science, Product Development, and Ingredient Innovation.
This position will support interdisciplinary projects at the interface of Food Crop Science and Ingredient Innovation and will play a critical part in advancing applied research initiatives focused on crop utilization, ingredient functionality, and product development.
The successful candidate will contribute to multiple projects by leading data analysis, literature reviews, and technical reporting, supporting innovation pipelines for value-added food ingredients and products.
Duties and Responsibilities:

Requirements:

- B.Sc. in Food Science or related area of study.

The Food Centre is looking for a full-time Food/Meat Processing Specialist. This role will assist current and future Food Centre clients at our Pilot Plant location (on University of Saskatchewan campus) with their food production projects with a focus on meat production as well as other food products. As part of our Food Centre team, you will responsible for assisting clients in their production and equipment operation as well as shipping/receiving, inventory control, documentation, QA/QC duties, and other duties as required. This position reports to the Pilot Plant Manager and may lead into a leadership role for the right candidate.
Requirements:
- Experience in a federally inspected meat facility would be an asset
- Sausage making/curing/smokehouse operation would be a requirement
- Working knowledge within HACCP systems
