Advanced Food Ingredients Centre
122 Buckle Avenue, Saskatoon, SK
With over 25 years of experience in the food industry, the Saskatchewan Food Industry Development Centre (Food Centre) has made strategic investments in fermentation to support startups and SMEs in scaling and commercializing health-beneficial products. Through its Advanced Food Ingredients Centre (AFIC2), the Food Centre offers a one-stop shop for fermented product innovation, from prototype development to commercialization.
AFIC2 is located at 122 Buckle Avenue, just south of our Agri-Food Innovation Centre (AFIC1) building. AFIC2 offers full-scale contract research and contract manufacturing services in fermentation, bioengineering, and downstream bioprocessing. In addition to processing, manufacturing, and commercialization services, the Food Centre offers process simulation, modeling, engineering, CAPEX, OPEX, ROI, profitability, and techno economical analysis to support the growing fermentation and bioengineering landscape in Canada.
