GreenPrints: A Webinar Series to Educate and Equip the Agri-Food Industry with Environmental Sustainability Best Practices
Saskatoon, SK – The Saskatchewan Food Industry Development Centre Inc. (Food Centre) is pleased to introduce GreenPrints, a brand-new webinar series aimed at transforming the Canadian agri-food sector’s approach to environmental sustainability post-harvest. GreenPrints will challenge current practices and provide innovative solutions to propel the industry forward.
In today’s world, Canadian consumers are increasingly concerned about the environmental impact of their food choices. However, public information about the current state of Canadian agricultural sustainability practices is insufficient. To address this gap, the Food Centre is proud to present GreenPrints – a thought-provoking webinar series featuring keynote speaker Dr. Sylvain Charlebois, Professor and Senior Director of the Agri-Food Analytics Lab at Dalhousie University. Dr. Charlebois will share his expertise and provide valuable tools to industry professionals to implement a sustainability roadmap in their organizations.
GreenPrints is made possible by funding of up to $71,899 from Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada through the AgriCommunication Program, an $8-million federal initiative that aims to boost public trust and appreciation for farmers and the food industry.
“As Canadians become more concerned with how their food choices impact the environment, it’s important to build public pride and trust in our agri-food sector. Our Government supports organizations like Saskatchewan Food Industry Development Centre in their development of tools to educate the public about environmentally sustainable best practices in food production.”
– The Honourable Marie-Claude Bibeau, Minister of Agriculture and Agri-Food
“The Food Centre is very pleased to offer GreenPrints Campaign and the webinar series to increase awareness about environmentally sustainable agri-food processing practices in Canada. We are inviting everyone who is passionate about food, packaging and processing technologies to join the webinar series to stay informed about the latest trend, techniques and innovation in the industry.”
